How many times have you heard the words our company mission statement is.. Followed by some woolly, wishy, washy statement that really means absolutely nothing and that the company staff have no idea about it really means or don't really follow what it says. How many times does that mission statement mean nothing but the paper it is written.
The reason for this is usually because the mission statement is decided by a senior manager and the rest of the workforce have absolutely no ownership of it. They have not had any part in it's creation so feel they have part in it's delivery.
