Code of Conduct

Ulysses NLP is the trading name for Gavin Watts, (called Gavin hereafter in this Code of Conduct)

Confidentiality

Gavin will treat all information about clients as being confidential. In practice this means that he will not share your personal details with any third party without your express consent. This includes such information as your phone number, email address, home address or the nature of the service you came to Ulysses for, nor any of the details about what was discussed during those sessions. Gavin will never pass your details on to any commercial organisation which could then use that information to ‘cold call' you for marketing purposes.

There are 2 exceptions to this confidentiality clause:-

Gavin may pass information on to law enforcement agencies, if he feels that information shared means that he could be considered an accomplice to a crime by withholding that information. This is particularly true if by withholding such information would put others at risk of harm.

Gavin will pass on information to law enforcement agencies or social service agencies if he feels that he is told information that puts a child at risk of significant harm as defined under The Children Act. This is a requirement in law. Gavin will however always inform clients that he has to pass on such information. He will also offer whatever support is appropriate after such a report. Clients should note that under these circumstances, if they desire further contact during any following proceedings, that the professional nature of the relationship will be maintained at all times. This means that Gavin will be offering support to the client on the basis of life coaching and the normal hourly rate will apply.

Professional behaviour

Gavin will always treat contact with clients in a professional manner. This means that clients should expect to be treated with courtesy and respect, they should also expect that their contact with Gavin will be non judgemental.

Gavin treats his clients with respect in an expectation that the clients return same courtesy that they would expect to receive. If Gavin feels that this is not happening then he will warn the client once that their behaviour is unacceptable. If the disrespectful behaviour continues Gavin will then stop the session.

Being professional, Gavin will always endeavour to start on time and to finish session on time. If a client wishes more time after the agreed period of time, this is subject to negotiation between both parties. Gavin will always try to accommodate such requests if possible.

Gavin will provide all the materials needed during the session.

Gavin will never deliberately mislead clients or ‘drag out' session in order to make more money than necessary. He will endeavour to discuss the time he feels that a client needs before the session.

Gavin will always try to respond to voice messages or emails within 24 hours, except when he is on holiday or unable to respond due to illness. Where possible, holiday dates and other periods where he is unavailable, will be posted on the front page of the ulyssesnlp.com website or on the answer phone.

Gavin is more than willing to meet clients in an environment of their choosing. This includes home visits, or meeting in public spaces, (such as parks or cafes). He may sometimes tell clients that some environments are unsuitable for the nature of the service they require and will recommend that they meet in hired room instead.

At this time Gavin is unable to accommodate clients in his own home.

Gavin will take payment for a session at the end of the time together, unless the client requests being able to pay at the beginning

Where Gavin is working with an individual or group from a business he is happy to invoice them for his services, in line with his Terms and Conditions
